The Old Vicarage School is a unique setting with love as its core value. All the adults who work at OVS, cherish the children, starting from a position of love, as an excellent parent would. We want all the children to be aware of that love, support and encouragement, so they truly feel a part of our OVS family. As a family-run, independent school, we provide a ‘home from home’ where children are happy, inspired to learn, feeling safe and loved.
A Message From The Head
We are a mixed ability, non-selective school. Where all children at OVS make excellent progress. This is due to the wonderful relationships they develop with their teachers. Children know that they have the support of all the adults in the school, who are available to help them at any time of the school day. They do so well academically because they are ambitious, but understand that making mistakes is a vital part of learning. This is why we achieve so many successes beyond the classroom on the sports field, in the performing arts as well as their personal friendships. We celebrate the talents and success of every individual whenever the opportunity arises.
We will get to know your child and identify that special ingredient that will inspire them to love learning and to reach for the next challenge. We will be there to support your child when they need a little extra support. In turn they will grow in confidence, independence and build resilience. The school’s motto “Ingenium ac Benevolentia” translates as ‘Character and Kindness’, which is evident in all aspects of the school, from the curriculum to the school culture. OVS is a caring, loving and very happy place where you will see lots of smiles along the way.
We encourage parents to visit as many schools as they feel necessary in order to make an informed decision and be sure that the investment in independent education will be the right decision for their child. We would love to meet you and hear all about your child, so do make an appointment for a personal tour.
